FAQ

-Is Dressed Up right for me?

Our store is perfect if you are looking for a helping hand in your formalwear shopping process. We love open-minded clients who feel comfortable giving feedback and collaborating with our consultants who have the shared goal of finding the best dress for you. Our establishment does not discriminate based on age, gender, race, sexuality, ability, religion or financial status. We encourage guests to come as they are and further show respect to those around them accordingly while visiting our shop.

-Is your store “Appointment only”?

Yes. In order to provide you with the best experience possible, We ask you make an appointment at least 24 hours in advance (see our scheduling portal). Further, due to the desire to maintain social distancing in our small shop, we are limiting the amount of appointments we book in the salon per hour and ask you bring no more than two additional guests to join you in the viewing area.

-When should I start shopping for Prom?

We carry gown year-round! With regards to Prom season, we receive the majority of our new season stock by the end of January- and therefore this is a great time to start shopping!

-What if my school ends up not having a Prom?

We believe that Prom is an important milestone in any young person’s life! We also know that COVID19 has changed the way many of us celebrate large group events. Here at Dressed Up, we encourage you to live out your Prom dreams no matter what our future holds. Whether its changing your venue to an outdoor space, celebrating more privately with a small group of friends, or booking a fabulous photo-shoot (in 2o2o we offered these free of charge to all customers whose dance was cancelled) there is no reason you should not still have the experience of wearing the perfect dress. While it might not be your wedding day, Prom remains one of the few times in your life when you can wear an over the top gown and celebrate YOU.

-Why can’t my …mom, sister, friend, etc…. just assist me with trying on the dresses?

Your consultant is in charge of getting you in and out of our gowns safely and securely without damaging the dress and therefore will be working intimately with you in and out of the fitting room. We encourage feedback about each dress you try so that we can gain an understanding of what you like and present you with more of the best options, as our consultants have committed much of our inventory to memory!

-Do you carry “Plus Size” dresses?

The majority of our gowns can be ordered in sizes 00-24. There are a few styles that range from 0-16 which includes “W” sizes as well which are cut for a curvier figure.

-Do you buy-back used dresses?

No. We can suggest selling to “Green and Glamorous” in Canton or donating to an organization like “Hope’s Closet” who provides gowns for women in need.

-Do you provide alterations?

No. Unfortunately the size of our current location does not allow for an on-site tailor. We recommend Sophia’s Tailoring in Canton or taking your gown to a trustworthy source that is convenient to you. Alterations are almost always necessary to ensure a proper fit for your gown and can be costly- please plan accordingly in budgeting before you make your gown purchase.

-Do you price match?

Yes. If you can provide a reputable source that proves that this is the exact gown we sell in our store (beware of lots of internet knock-offs that advertise to be the same!) then we are happy to match their advertised price. Keep in mind that this will not include one of our signature dress bags or the complimentary steaming for floor stock or special orders. Please also remember the value of your consultants time and energy in assisting you with the gown selection process when choosing who to ultimately purchase your dress from.

-How much do your dresses generally cost?

Our gowns range from $350-$850. We do not include alterations or provide this service in our shop.

-Do you offer lay-away?

Yes- we offer layaway on our gowns at no additional cost to you. We require you pay the first half of the dress up front and then you get 30 days to pay off the second half of the dress in as many increments as you desire. The layaway agreement states that payments made on the dress cannot be refunded at any time once the agreement has been submitted.

-Can I return or exchange my dress if I have not worn it or did not end up attending the event?

No. Unfortunately we cannot for any reason accept a return or exchange of a gown after it has left our store.

-What if my dress doesn’t  fit anymore?

Dressed Up is not responsible for the fit of your gown after you have left the store. Upon picking up a gown we ask that you always try it on. For special orders we suggest by booking a “special order pick up” to ensure you are happy with the fit of the dress. We do not allow for exchange or return on special orders. On the occasion that a special order gown arrives and does not fit as anticipated, Dressed Up will make accommodations to provide an alternate size of the same dress if it is available to be ordered. Note that some alterations are almost always required for a dress to fit every individual properly. If an alternate size dress is not available to order in that same style another gown may be selected (within 7 days) and the credit of the original gown be applied to the purchase of an alternate style from Dressed Up.

-What if someone at my dance has the same dress as me purchased from your store?

Dressed Up registers every gown to ONE event in order to track which styles are sold to which school and provide that information for our guests to use to make an informed decision. However, we cannot prohibit others from buying the same gown style with or without your knowledge nor can we prevent them from wearing it to multiple events or misrepresenting where they intend on wearing it. For this reason, while we do register our gowns, we are not responsible for duplicate dress styles being sold to the same occasion from our store or any other. We do not accept returns or refunds for duplicate dress styles being sold to the same event.
